  • Antoine Jean Baptiste Robert Auget de Montyon (1733-1820) was a French philanthropist who endowed a series of prizes, including a "Prix de Vertu" for "the most courageous act on the part of a poor Frenchman." Mr. and Mrs. Tuck (Edward Tuck, 1842-1938, and Julia Stell Tuck, 1850-1928) were the first American recipients of this prize.
