    "Oval bronze medal with eyelet and loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the figure of a nurse seated in a large chair with a radiant Geneva cross at the top tending to a kneeling soldier, his rifle on the ground, dated ‘1914’ and ‘1915’ to left and right respectively, a ruined church above left, field guns above right, inscribed ‘HONNEUR • AU • DEVOUEMENT’ below, signed ‘P. AUBE (for the sculptor Jean-Paul Aubé, 1837-1916); the reverse with a battlefield landscape, a rectangular plaque below for attribution imposed on a sheathed sword and a laurel branch; width 28.38mm (1.12 inches); without ribbon. The Union des Femmes de France was founded in 1881 by Madame Koechlin-Schwart with the aim of offering impartial assistance to combatants in times of war and support to public agencies in time of national catastrophe."
