  • Museum's file, Department Art of Europe, 1961:
    A gift by the sculptor to Cyrus Dallin, this small but delightful wax statuette has never been cast. In addition it has the rare quality of spontaneous observation, unimpeded by the academic romanticism of most of Barye's popular but commercial and repetitious bronzes.
