Institution's website, October 7, 2013:
Statue of seated female in Grecian gown by "Ene. Aizelin", cast by F. Barbedienne, 1863. Figure is cast with pulled back ribbon flowing hair. Shoulderless garment held by one shoulder strap. Left knee is drawn higher where folded hands of figure appear holding an oil lamp. Figure is seated on an upholstered type stool decorated with Moorish designs and animal skins. Below the above, a rectangular base, where signature appears has a semi-circular protrusion which supports the right foot of figure.
